NYCEEC’s Jay Merves and Fred Lee participated in an International Green Bank Summit hosted by the New York State Green Bank in New York City on November 17-18, 2014. The successful two-day summit, held at the offices of the Natural Resources Defense Council and Bloomberg, LP, brought together clean energy financing organizations like the UK Green Investment Bank, the Japanese Green Finance Organization, the Australian Clean Energy Finance Corporation, GreenTech Malaysia and the Connecticut Green Bank, as well as representatives from a wide variety of commercial lenders including Bank of America, Citi, Deutsche Bank and Goldman Sachs.

NYCEEC shared its clean energy financing experiences with the other summit participants, providing its insights into the challenges and lessons gleaned from originating and closing loans for energy efficiency and clean energy projects in New York City buildings. The summit also provided NYCEEC with the opportunity to learn about strategies and best practices from other green banks as well as trends and developments in clean energy finance from leading industry experts.
